“crossines_#1” is a live, improvisatory performance for violin and interactive electronics, and deals with aspects of timbral hybridity, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and sound spatialization. It is the first improvisation of the series “crossines” exploring the threshold between the “acoustic” and the “electro-acoustic” in an attempt to project a hybrid, electrified acoustic experience. The role of electronics is to exalt the sonic subtleties of the violin aiming both at the rea-time transformation as well as the augmentation of the idiomatic sound profile of the instrument. “crossines” refers to the junction among performance synergies opting for a transdisciplinary performance practice.
