A few words about Stylianos

Stylianos Dimou is a Greek composer of acoustic, electroacoustic and acousmatic music, as well as a conductor and performer. Recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, Dimou’s endeavours have been supported by numerous International Organizations among others, the Fulbright Foundation (USA), Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative, Columbia University, Cite Internationale des in Paris, the Trägerverein Herrenhaus Edenkoben, etc.

As a composer of acoustic and electroacoustic music, at the forefront of his research area is the topic of vibrant complexity and live interactivity utilizing technologies aimed at the ultimate blending among instrumental and electroacoustic entities. He is working towards artistic- technological frameworks where the technology is as equally involved as the human beings in the realization and final execution of a musical piece of art. His most recent projects explore aspects of organic, pitch intricacies in relationship with the evolution and the eventual exhaustion of repetitive mechanic rhythmicity.
