momentum "I": death & escape (2019)
for bass flute and live electronics
"momentum 'I': death & escape" (2019), commissioned by the 20th Weimarer Frühjahrstage für zeitgenössische Musik, explores sonic boundaries for bass flute and live electronics. At its core, the piece weaves a continuum of rhythmic, repetitive figures that intertwine with the electronically generated counter-rhythms, and intricate timbral spaces creating an immersive dialogue. The electronics, shaped by impulse responses drawn from the bass flute's resonant characteristics, form a hybrid acoustic landscape, extending the instrument’s sonic possibilities. The result is an electrified experience, a meeting of acoustic and electronic realms. Dedicated with deep gratitude to Carin Levine, the work seeks to push the listener’s perception of sound and space.
