Impetuous flow: in flux” is a piece that is written for and heartily dedicated to the members of the Ensemble Suono Giallo. The structural framework of the piece is derived from an older project and my goal is to revitalize the sonic material of the saxophone and explore its sonic implications - the various sonic and acoustic properties along with the exploration and orchestrated realization of breathy sounds, noisy entities - and any possible extensions of its preconceived microtonal material. This piece reflects my personal exploration with regard to the coexistence and/or interrelationship among pitch and noisy entities. Sonic plasticity and microtonality become the actual tools leading to a comprehensive realization of sliding micro and macro-gestures as long as idiomatic instrumental glissandi, articulated my different instrumental combinations.
